Do you wonder sometimes what can you do conserve energy? Is you electric bill higher than what is considered normal? If so, this page is all for you. Except for repairing your appliances, On Demand Appliance Repair is here to answer all the questions that you may have about energy efficiency.
Being informed about your home’s energy conservation is your responsibility, not just for yourself, but for the environment as well. The way we look at it is, “informed customers make informed decisions”. So without further ado, here is what you can do to become a smart and efficient energy consumer:
1. Use your washing machine on the cold water cycle. Your washer uses roughly 90% of its energy trying to heat up the water on a warm and hot cycle.
2. Microwaves use much less energy than ovens.
3. Try not to open oven door during the cooking cycle because opening the door releases the heat inside and thus forcing the oven to use more energy to heat it back up again to its desired temperature.
4. Few minutes before the end of oven cooking, you can shut off the oven and use less energy. After all, the food will still cook even when the timer shuts off.
For more tips and advice regarding your appliance functions, feel free to ask our technician during the service call and he/she will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
